  1. Every child a wanted child. It is unfait to children to bring them into a world where they are not wanted

Answer:

Every child is wanted by someone – there is no such thing as an unwanted child. Many families want to adopt. Babies put out for adoption are very few compared to the demand for babies.

There is a difference between an unwanted pregnancy and an unwanted child.

“Unwanted” describes  the attitude of adults not an actual condition of the child.

The problem of unwantedness is a good argument for wanting children, but a poor argument for aborting them.

Every child a wanted child is correct. It is either “Every child a wanted child, so let’s place children up for adoption in homes where they are wanted” or “Every child a wanted child, so let’s identify unwanted children before they are born and kill them by abortion”

What is most unfair to “unwanted”  children is to kill them. Consider the homeless kids on the streets. Should we go out and shoot them all because they are “unwanted”. It isn’t an act of love and fairness to kill people just because they are unwanted.

  1. Having more unwanted children results in more child abuse.

Answer:

Most abused children were wanted by their parents. Studies show that the majority of abused children come from families who wanted their children.

Child abuse does not decreased with abortion but increases.

If children are viewed as expendable before birth, they will be viewed as expendable after birth. Studies indicate that child abuse is more frequent among mothers who have previously had an abortion. The attitude that results in abortion is exactly the same attitude that results in child abuse.

It is illogical to argue that a child is protected from abuse through abortion since abortion is child abuse.

  1. Restricting abortion would be unfair to the poor and vulnerable, who need it most

Answer:

It is not unfair for some people to have less opportunity than others to kill the innocent.

The rich and wealthy, not the poor and vulnerable, are most committed to unrestricted abortion.

Pro-choice advocates want the poor and vulnerable to have abortions, but oppose requirements that abortion risks and alternatives be explained to them.

  1. Abortion helps solve the problem of overpopulation and raises the quality of life.

Answer:

The current birth rate in many countries is declining and is less than what is needed to maintain current population.

The dramatic decline in birth rate will have a disturbing economic effect on nations.

Over popluation is frequently blamed for problems with other causes. Studies consistently show that plenty of food is presently produced to feed every person on the planet. The problem of starvation is a combination of many factors, including natural disasters, wars, lack of technology, misuse of resources, waste, greed, corruption, government inefficiency, failure to distribute food properly etc.

If there is a population problem that threatens our standard of living, the solution is not to kill off part of the population

The “quality of life” concept  is breeding a sense of human expendability that has far reaching social implications.

  1. Even if abortion was made illegal, there would still be many abortions.

Answer:

That harmful acts against the innocent will take place regardless of the law is a poor argument for having no law.

The law can guide and educate people to choose better alternatives

History shows that laws concerning abortion have significantly influenced whether women choose to have abortions.

  1. The anti-abortion beliefs of the minority should not be imposed on the majority.

Answer:

Major polls clearly indicate it is a majority, not a minority, who believe there should be greater restrictions on abortion.

Many people’s apparent agreement with abortion law stems from their ignorance of what the law really is.

Beliefs that abortion should be restricted are embraced by a majority in most political parties.

  1. The anti-abortion position is a religious belief that threatens the well-being of society.

Answer:

Jesus pointed out that believers were “salt” and “light” to the people around directing them to truth.

Many nonreligious people believe that abortion kills children and is wrong.

Morality must not be rejected just because it is supported by religion.

Many countries are founded on a moral base dependent upon principles of the Bible and the Christian religion.

Religion’s waning influence on different societies directly account for the moral deterioration threatening the future.
